Larry, I have never been to the Fox Theater, but I will never forget it. A couple years ago during online class, the teacher gave us a mnemonic that used the words "movies" and "Fox Theater." Some student piped up and said "The Fox Theater doesn't show movies." Someone else said "The one in Tuscon does!" Thus began a chatroom fight during class that lasted 10 minutes as everyone ranted and raved about their own towns' Fox Theaters.

Yep, Putney Swope is essential. That board scene is great. It rubbed me the wrong way that Putney got dubbed by Downey, but it's still interesting to watch.

I've seen several bits and pieces of PS over the years, but have never seen the entire film on TV on any channel. But I recall sitcoms in the 70s making jokes about it every so often, so it's one of those films I've wanted to see since I was a very very young kid.

F**kin' A!! Saw Putney Swope in '74 on a midnight double bill - with Greaser's Palace!!! Damn, that's a Twilight Zoner.

GP sucks, mostly, not nearly as good as Putney Swope, a game changer of an indy film. The first board meeting in the film is awesome, and the Coen Bros. musta watched that closely, for Hudsucker. Do Not Miss This Film.
