A Few Notes Plus Some Anna May Wong

The Chuck Norris Ate My Blog Contestothon [1] has come and gone and, somehow, yours truly won a bunch of neat swag! Thanks to Matt-suzaka for the contest and the prizes! Epic congratulations to the other winners, Zachary at The Lightning Bug's Lair and Emily at The Quest to Watch Every Movie Ever. Emily had not one entry, not two, but seven full entries for the Chuckothon, including her take on "Silent Rage." She appreciates a giant salami as much as I do.

Ivan recently mentioned that he, I, and a bunch of you guys were listed on TotalFilm's 600 Movie Blogs You Might Have Missed. Yay! Ironic title for the article, though; despite this article being from January, I don't think I knew about it before. My hit trackers don't indicate any uptick in hits from it, either... which I hope doesn't sound ungrateful, because it was neat to see so many blogs I knew getting a nice shout-out. Now that I'm reading blogs again, my goal is to go through that entire list and add those I have somehow missed.

Speaking of lists of blogs, guys, my blogroll and sidebar whatnots are out of hand again. Long time readers know that I post about this every 8-12 months because I have issues with organization. Basically, if I've missed listing you, please let me know in the comments or drop me an email.

Super Sekrit Message to an Unnamed Blogger: I hate writing this publicly, but I promise you I searched everywhere for an email address yet could not find one. Per request, I have added you to my blogroll again, but want to mention I did have you listed for about 2 years until I got irritated... you kept asking me to put you on my blogroll even though you were already there! True story! You can check archive.org and look at SBBN from a few years ago, you're there! So you don't need to ask me again, and there's no need to reply to this either. I just wanted you to know what was going on.

Enough chit chat, let's get to some Anna May Wong pictures:

Major congrats to you on taking home the grand prize in the Chuck Norris Blogathon--you deserve it! (I think from now on, I will mention you on the blog as "Chuckie Award-winning blogger Stacia Jones.")

And I love that second picture of Anna May--hoochie mama!

Did you record The Star on TCM this morning? I thought you had mentioned something about getting an e-mail from them saying they cancelled it because of the Dennis Hopper tribute...if they did say that, they were big fibbers!

I went ahead and recorded for that time block, although yesterday I got another email from TCM saying it was canceled. (I had assumed it was canceled to make room for the Dennis Hopper movies, but at this point I just don't know.) Whatever I recorded in that time block is going to get watched tonight over dinner.

Congrats on taking top prize. And for choosing the Norris film awesome enough to be referenced in Hot Fuzz (Or is it Hot Fuzz was awesome enough to be worthy of mentioning Chuck Norris).

That said your Blog Roll would seem to be an awesome place to be, and I would very much like to move in if my references check out. I have the first, last and safety deposit already to go.

Bryce, I have NO IDEA why you're not on the blogroll, because I have had you in my RSS feed for ages. See, this is why I periodically ask.

If you recorded that time block--it's on there. I recorded the movie last night and saw the tail-end of it when I was labeling the DVD this morning so there's no way it could be on my machine and not on yours (unless the Movie Gods are pranksters, something I've long suspected).

And I'm going to add Bryce to my blogroll simply because his comment "I would very much like to move in if my references check out...I have the first, last and safety deposit already to go" made diet root beer come out my nose.

@ Stacia: I'm honored to be included in both.

@ Ivan: I have to say I'm oddly proud of that. (Thanks for the follow as well). The blast of root beer and the addition to the roll both.
